Strawberry Thumbprint Cookies Recipe

When assembling a cookie tray, strawberry thumbprint cookies are very popular. These cookies are a great way to use your homemade preserves. Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 3/4 cup walnuts, crushed
  • 1/2 cup strawberry jam

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Cream butter and sugar in a medium-sized bowl using an electric mixer. Add egg yolks and vanilla.

  3. Slowly add flour. Shape one-half inch balls and dip in egg whites.

  4. Roll in nuts. Place cookies on a cookie sheet one inch apart. Press thumb into middles of each cookie and insert 1/2 teaspoon jam

  5. Bake 15 minutes.
