Easy Baked Biscuit Donuts

We seriously live right across the street from a grocery store.  Right across the street.  Do you know how many times I go to this store in a week?  I really shouldn’t say, and Brett really doesn’t need to know.

But do you know what it’s like living across the street from a grocery store when you live with a two year old who knows that’s where the donuts are?  Torture.  For me and the two year old.

You’re probably wondering why on earth  I would ever make donuts when I can walk right across the street to buy them? Because said two year old’s eyes lit right up when I asked him if he wanted to help mommy make donuts one Saturday morning.  He’s never been so excited to help me make breakfast.

Kids will love helping with these!

All you need is a tube of refrigerated biscuit dough to get started.  Separate the biscuits and roll each one out just a little bit.

Then, cut out a hole out of the center of each biscuit.  I used the lid to our milk.

Brush the tops and sides of your donuts and donut holes with a little bit of melted butter or vegetable oil.  Then pop in the oven for about 12 minutes at 375 degrees.  Remove and frost with a glaze. You can have fun with this part and use any flavor or color of glaze, add sprinkles, etc.  Or just dust with powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar.

But you know my boy’s a chocolate lover just like his momma.  So we stuck with a simple chocolate glaze.  They may not be the prettiest looking donut you’ve ever seen but believe me, your kids won’t care!
