How To Make Orange Poppyseed Pancakes
Perfect for lazy breakfast, these fluffy orange poppyseed pancakes give the right balance of sweet and tang, whipped with poppyseed for a healthy twist.

Ingredients
For Orange Syrup:
- ½cupmaple syrup
- 1tbsporange zest
For Pancakes:
- ¾cupwholemeal self raising flour,or whole wheat flour
- ¾cupwhite self raising flour,or whole wheat flour
- ¼cupraw sugar,or natural sweetener of choice
- 1tspbaking powder,use 3 tsp baking powder if using all purpose flour
- 1egg
- ¼cuplow-fat butter,light, melted
- 1cupunsweetened almond milk,or any milk
- ¼cuporange juice,freshly squeezed
- 1tbsporange zest
- 1tbsppoppy seeds
Instructions
Orange Syrup:

Prepare the syrup by combining maple syrup and zest in a jug, cup or bowl, and set aside to allow orange flavors to infuse through syrup. Prepare pancakes.
Pancakes:

Combine the flour/s, sugar, and baking powder in a medium-sized bowl.

Make a well in the centre and add egg, butter, milk and juice. Mix into the flour to combine. Fold through zest and poppy seeds but don’t over beat the batter

Cook on a nonstick pan/skillet using ¼ cup batter per pancake until golden, and flip.

Repeat with remaining batter until all pancakes are cooked.

Serve with prepared orange syrup, frozen yoghurt, ice cream, etc!
